The DMG MORI DMC 80 FD duoBLOCK is a high-performance 5-axis mill-turn machining center that integrates full simultaneous milling and turning capabilities into one highly rigid, thermally stable platform. Built on the duoBLOCK® 4th generation architecture, this machine offers enhanced precision, dynamics, and flexibility for complete part machining in a single setup.
The “FD” in the model name stands for Fräsen + Drehen (Milling + Turning), allowing full turning operations on the same platform that handles heavy-duty 5-axis milling. This makes it ideal for workpieces requiring complex surface machining, angular bores, and rotational features like flanges or housings with milled details. With its integrated rotary table, the DMC 80 FD can perform turning operations at high torque and high accuracy directly on the milling table.
The machine is equipped with a powerful HSK-A100 spindle, a swiveling milling head, and an NC rotary table with turning function, all within a thermo-symmetric duoBLOCK design that ensures outstanding rigidity, stability, and vibration damping — key for high precision in long cycle jobs.
It’s widely used in aerospace, automotive, energy, and mold & die industries for producing high-value, high-accuracy components with complex geometries.
